Our Fleet
New Zealand Aviation Academy operates a modern fleet of aircraft recognised for their safety, stability and suitability for pilot training.

Piper PA-34-220T Seneca IV

The Piper PA-34-220T Seneca IV is a proven twin-engine training and cross-country aircraft. As a turbocharged, retractable-gear light twin, it provides students with authentic multi-engine experience in a professional training environment.
Powered by two Continental turbocharged engines with counter-rotating propellers, the Seneca IV delivers balanced handling and reliable performance, ideal for asymmetric and engine-failure training.
Its cockpit supports crew coordination and instrument training, while its systems complexity prepares students for airline-style operations. The Seneca IV bridges single-engine training and advanced multi-engine environments, developing safe, industry-ready pilots.

Diamond DA40 Diamond Star

The Diamond DA40 is a modern, high-performance aircraft in our training fleet, offering efficient operation and responsive handling for advanced VFR and IFR training.
Equipped with the Garmin G1000 integrated flight deck, it introduces students to contemporary glass-cockpit operations. The Primary and Multi-Function Displays combine flight, navigation, engine data, and situational awareness, supporting progression into complex aircraft and commercial aviation.

Cessna 172 Skyhawk

The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is known for its stability and reliability. Its high-wing design offers excellent visibility for both visual and instrument training. Our C172s feature the Garmin G1000 integrated flight deck, introducing students to modern glass-cockpit technology. With clear Primary and Multi-Function Displays, the system integrates flight, navigation, engine, and situational awareness information — preparing students for today’s commercial environments.

Cessna 152

The Cessna 152 plays an important role in our fleet, offering a responsive and cost-effective platform for early flight training. Known for its predictable handling and straightforward systems, the C152 enables students to focus on developing fundamental flying skills, aircraft control, and situational awareness. Its analogue instrument layout provides a strong foundation in core airmanship before progressing to more advanced aircraft.
